I can understand how you are feeling, and I'm glad you are so sensitive to our nation.
We should all be in prayer for our nation and the leaders of it. Regardless of who is elected into office, GOD IS SOVEREIGN, don't think for a moment that the voter count will be anything but what God has allowed for this nation.
You brought up some questions that I would like to address:
"Chew on this though: There will probably almost never be on candidate who agrees with everything you think the Bible has to say about all the issues. So how do you compromise? How do you decide what to condone, and what to condem? How do you decide whether to vote for baby deaths, or sending your neighbors baby into battle half a world away?"
You are right about the candidates not being all that we agree on, who does really? I think you have to pray about it, and if God is laying certain issues on your heart specifically then you must act on it by voting for the candidate that lines up with that.

But as for whether to vote on baby deaths and sending your baby to war, you must remember.....our soldiers volunteered for their postion and regardless of opinion of war they were able to make a choice knowing that that is where they may end up, pledging even their death for wherever our country leads them.
These babies are never given that choice, In fact they are not even referred to as babies, and we know what God's word says about that! The choice to lose their life is not in their hands. If you have ever read how abortions happen, it's very heart wrenching and vile and disgusting and I cannot for a moment believe it is what God wants for the baby or the mother, even though he does allow it to happen. I just don't think you can compare these two issues David, on any level.

I love you and will continue to pray for you.
