Songs I have misheard the words to…
We’ve all done it. Been singing a song we really like, and think we know all the words to, only to be singing our heart out, and have a friend inform us just how wrong we are. I am going to begin keeping a list of songs I have done this with…
Love Story by Taylor Swift: I heard “They’re trying to tell me how to feel” as, “Good Charlotte tell me how to feel”.
Highway to the Danger Zone by Kenny Loggins (Can I please get a fact check on that?): I heard “Highway to the danger zone” as, “Fly away to the danger zone”. Given the movie that made this hugely popular, I feel as though this is an understandable mistake.
I Want to Be Just Like You by Philips Craig and Dean (Don’t judge me…): I heard “Let me be a living Bible Lord” as, “Let me ba a living Babylon”. Two completly different requests.
Pride (In The Name of Love) by U2: I heard “What more in the name of love” as, “One died in the name of love”.
God Gave Rock ‘n’ To You by KISS: Last December I went to a Kiss concert with some friends, and as we were exiting, they were playing this song. I heard “God gave rock ‘n’ roll to you” as “I wanna make rock ‘n’ roll to you”. I now know that this was dumb. However, given the meaning of songs like “Love Gun”, what was I supposed to think?!
